FAQ's about paying rent and electricity when moving and selling
Updated over a week ago

We have received electricity on our invoice but are newly moved in?

The reading of electricity is done by the association's supplier and is charged on each apartment, ie. it is linked to the apartment and not a specific person. You need to resolve this cost with the seller of the apartment.

I'm selling my property, who pays the monthly rent -

the seller or the buyer?

MONHTLY RENT: who pays in case of transfers

The occupant on the 1st of the month must be sent the invoice for that month (We never break the invoice in the middle of a month)

Example. Moving in 1 Nov: Buyer pays November.

Ex: Moving in 2 Nov: Seller pays November.

Ex: Moving in 15 Nov: Seller pays November.

Ex: Moving in 30 Nov: Seller pays November.

QUARTERLY RENT: who pays in case of transfers

The Occupant on the 1st of the quarter must be sent the invoice for that quarter (We never break the invoice in the middle of a quarter)

Moving in 15 July: Sellers pay for the entire quarter 3 (july-sept)

Moving in 24 Dec: Sellers pay for the entire quarter 4 (oct-dec)

Moving in 2 Jan: Sellers pay for the entire quarter 1 (jan-march)

Moving in 1 oct: Buyers pays for the entire quarter 4 (oct-dec)

I'm selling my apartment and my electricity is lagging 2 months. How do I deal with this?

When you sell your apartment, you are obliged to declare all your costs incurred before the date of sale, so talk to your agent and show your electricity costs and the buyer and seller can settle this at the time of sale.
