Who pays for faults in the apartment?

This varies depending on the nature of the issue and whether it is a condominium or a rental property. Check the statutes of your association.

I have a blockage in the sewer or a smell from the sewer. What should I do?

Sewer blockages can be caused by many things such as dirt and deposits or the flushing of large objects. Measures you can take yourself include clearing the water trap and sink or kitchen sink drain by periodically unscrewing the water trap, clearing and flushing it. Don't forget to put a bucket underneath first.

The floor drain in the shower can also give off a bad smell, which you can solve by cleaning it regularly by removing the strainer and pulling out the insert. Clean both it and the floor drain and rinse thoroughly. Then make sure the insert is inserted properly without any gaps. Before replacing the strainer, fill the insert with water to avoid odors.

I have problems with the electricity in my apartment. What should I do?

This is usually due to blown fuses or a faulty circuit breaker in the apartment, so check these. If the problem persists, you can troubleshoot: switch off all fuses but keep the residual current device. Then switch on the fuses one by one until the RCD switches off and you have found the fault. Sometimes it is a temporary fault and you can switch the RCD back on, but it can also be due to an overload. There should be instructions on which fuse is connected to which part of the apartment. Try turning off one or more appliances in the part of the apartment where the fuse is overloaded. If the RCD no longer switches off, it is probably one of the appliances you have unplugged that is causing the overload. Then you should plug it into another socket.

I have poor ventilation at home. What can I do?

First of all, you should check that the supply and exhaust air vents are open and cleaned. Also make sure that they are not blocked; if the air cannot flow freely from the installed vents, the balance is upset as air passes through other leaks.

How do I get internet and broadband access in my association?

For information on internet and broadband, please contact the board of your association. You can write to them by creating an errand in the portal. Please note that Nabo is the default recipient, so you must choose to send the case to the board.
